The GPEN11 is a power injector that can be mounted on a wall, and will power your uplink devices with PoE power. The GPEN11 is part of the GPEN (Gigabit Passive Ethernet Network) concept, which aims to replace GPON installations with lower cost and more easy to deploy ethernet alternative. The MikroTik GPEN11 is a wall-mountable power injector designed as a key component of MikroTik's GPEN (Gigabit Passive Ethernet Network) concept. In short: Power Injector: Its primary function is to deliver Power over Ethernet (PoE) to connected uplink devices. GPEN Concept: It's part of MikroTik's initiative to offer a more cost-effective and easier-to-deploy alternative to traditional GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) installations by leveraging standard Ethernet. Connectivity: It features two Gigabit Ethernet ports, with one typically providing Passive PoE output to power a device (like an outdoor wireless unit or another network switch). Flexible Powering: It supports a wide input voltage range (12-57V DC), allowing flexibility in power sources. Wall-Mountable: Designed for easy installation inside customer premises, often next to a Wi-Fi router. It even has a designated space for an ISP sticker. Essentially, the GPEN11 allows ISPs or network administrators to power remote Ethernet devices over a single cable, simplifying deployments and reducing infrastructure costs, particularly in scenarios where GPON might be overkill or too expensive.
